Samuel the Prophet

Prophecy, leadership

📜Sefaria⬡Show in the network🌌Show in the Tower of Generations🔗The path to another sage

Core Concept

Leadership as a mission, not as rule: Samuel went round the towns of Israel to judge the people, prayed for them, and handed leadership over to the monarchy without giving up the authority of prophecy.

Biography

The last of the judges and the greatest prophet after Moses. He established the monarchy in Israel and anointed Saul and David.
